Congregation Kol Ami, West Hollywood’s premier Reform Synagogue, is committed to a world in which all individuals are honored and connected in community.
Founded in 1992, Kol Ami quickly became an important leader in the Jewish, LGBTQ+, and West Hollywood communities, receiving awards and coverage for our commitment to progressive spirituality, diversity, inclusion, and social justice. The diverse congregation of jews by birth, jews by choice, and non-Jewish allies is welcoming to all. We take joy in being innovative, connected to the wider community, while remaining rooted in Jewish tradition and practice.
The constant search for identity, justice, wisdom, and love – in short, a life well lived – is what brings us together as a community. We find inspiration in our traditions. We return to our roots for guidance, and we turn to each other for support and friendship.

Kol Ami proudly holds a Holocaust memorial scroll,
Sefer Torah #401, one of the 1,564 Czech Memorial Sifre Torah. This scroll orginated from Polna, and was written in the 19th century. Due to its fragility, we keep it rolled to the “middle” of the Torah, Leviticus 19, and we have the honor of reading from it once each year on the afternoon of Yom Kippur.
